Maybe some of you remember Peggy McGhie, the older lady who used to work in the second room of the store. She's the one with the encyclopedic knowledge of opera and most classical music who mentored several singers and generally served as the "go-to" person when a customer came in with a melody in mind that none of us could figure out.
She turned a very youthful 90 on Saturday.
Happy Birthday, Peg!

sightings
We get a lot of celebrities in this store. I think they like it because we don't call up TMZ or some other gossip rag to take pictures of them or their poor kids trying to have a music lesson. We're pretty relaxed around here. We like to be accommodating. We treat them like they're one of us, and mostly leave them to their business. Still, there is one guy, the star of possibly the biggest show of the mid 90s, who causes even our most jaded female employees to get flustered and giggly. As for me, I think the guy's cool. But watching the ladies try to contain their enthusiasm is my favorite part.
